Detrich "Dead Eye" O'Danos Solitary, Stealthy, Organized, Intelligent, Cautious Relic shredder rifle (b[2d10] damage 1 piercing) 12 HP 3 armor Close, Near, Far Detrich O'Danos was convicted for dozens of murders, and was sentenced to serve the rest of his days in the various copper mines in the Cinder Expanse. One day, his pick broke through the stone and into the lower reaches of a Spell Weaver ruin, and one remarkably free of Relic Drones. He lucked upon a still-functional artifact of the Spell Weavers, and used the weapon to escape. He soon formed the Dead Eye Bandits from other escaped prisoners, and has been plaguing the Cinder Expanse ever since. Instinct: Take what belongs to me. (Everything.)

Dead Eyes Bandit Horde, Stealthy, Organized, Intelligent, Cautious Crossbow (d6 damage) 3 HP 2 armor Close, Near, Far The Dead Eyes bandits are a plague upon the colony town of Barrentorne, having originally formed from escaped criminals formerly used as miners. They maintain several camps throughout the surrounding Cinder Expanse, and are growing in both number and ambition. Instinct: To profit through violence.

Relic Lord Solitary, Huge, Magical, Organized, Intelligent, Construct Chitinous Scythes (b[2d10+3] damage 1 piercing) 20 HP 0 armor Reach, Near Special Qualities: Organic Construct (Immune to diplomacy or mind-affecting magic.) The Relic Lord was the first of its kind, created by a now-vanished race to act as a weapon of war. Foolishly, its creators made the Relic Lord self-aware. The creature ultimately concluded that intelligent life is the source of all conflict, and it destroyed its creators. It has lain dormant in the Cinder Expanse ever since, watching over the silent, empty peace of the Expanse. Instinct: To preserve the peace of the Cinder Expanse.

Relic Warrior Group, Organized, Construct, Amorphous Chitin blade (d8+4 damage 1 piercing) 9 HP 3 armor Close, Forceful, Reach Special Qualities: Flight., Organic Construct (Immune to diplomacy or mind-affecting magic.) More rare than Relic Drones, Relic Warriors are activated by the Drones when they face foes that the cannot defeat by themselves. Relic Warriors then assault enemy life forms from the air, and attempt to bring down fortifications to allow the Drone host in. Instinct: Destroy sentient life.

Relic Drone Horde, Large, Organized, Construct Shredding Beam (b[2d6+2] damage 1 piercing) 7 HP 1 armor Near Special Qualities: Psychic Senses (Detects Sentient lifeforms within 50 feet.), Organic Construct (Immune to diplomacy or mind-affecting magic.) Relic Drones can be found throughout the Cinder Expanse, usually within the mysterious ruins that dot that foreboding landscape, but occasionally simply buried under sand or laying inert among the rocks. When a Relic Drone detects sentient life, it awakens and proceeds to hunt down every intelligent life form it can find. Relic Drones are capable of converting almost any organic matter into more of their own, although they only seem to do this to replace lost numbers, or to overwhelm a large enemy force. Instinct: Destroy sentient life.

B'thothuso Solitary, Magical, Intelligent, Cautious, Planar Fell Magic (w[2d12] damage) 12 HP 5 armor Close, Near, Far B'thothuso hates the world of mortal races, and desires nothing more than to return to its home beyond the stars. It lurks in the surface level of an ancient ruin that extends deep underground, surrounded by its lesser kindred, and plots to return home. The portal to its unknowable realm is located in the depths of the ruin, but B'thothuso possesses only one of the two keys. The other is possessed by Rugnaruag, one of its own siblings, who wishes to claim the mortal world for itself. The two creatures are deadlocked, and B'thothuso would handsomely reward any being willing to slay its bothersome rival. Instinct: To go home.

Hawk Hound Horde, Small, Stealthy, Organized Sharp beak and talons (b[2d6] damage) 3 HP 1 armor Close Hawk Hounds are small relatives of griffons, and resemble a cross between a redtailed hawk and a dog. Individual Hawk Hounds may resemble different breeds of dog, and may reproduce with regular dogs, the results of such unions always being Hawk Hounds. These creatures hunt in large packs, and their social natures make them easily trainable if they are captured young. Instinct: To protect the pack.

Psyche Wolf Horde, Stealthy, Intelligent, Planar Ravaging claws and fangs. (b[2d6+2] damage 1 piercing) 3 HP 1 armor Close Powerful feelings of guilt, regret, or fear can be dangerous, especially when repressed for long periods of time. On rare occasions, such feelings can draw the attention of Psyche Wolves, who swiftly close in on whatever target attracted their attention. Instinct: To claim others for its own.

Amphiptere Group, Large, Stealthy, Devious, Hoarder Breath toxic gas. (d6 damage) 10 HP 0 armor Ignores Armor, Near Special Qualities: Flight. The amphiptere is a lesser relative of Dragons. It resembles a winged snake of great size, usually surrounded by a smokey nimbus of poisonous smog. While less formidable than their draconic cousins, they are still cause for alarm. The presence of even a single amphiptere can foul an area into toxict uselessness for years, and a family of the creatures can render wide swaths of land uninhabitable. Instinct: To Hunt

Believed to be the remote ancestors of Dragons, these beasts were the dominant predators of their time.
