The Shadow Thief is a construct created by a powerful wizard to collect children. They are nearly impossible to kill but when cornered or brilliantly lit, they are little more then a skeleton figure of thin brittle tubes that shatter with a few hits. Shadow Thieves were designed to slip into children's homes and carry them off without needing to use doors or windows - they slide in on moonlight or lamplight through a window.
